JAMAICA NEVER KNEW BOB MARLEY, PETER TOSH, NOR ITS TRENCH TOWN PEOPLE.

WRITTEN WITHOUT PREJUDICE:

How many today can honestly look at the videos and listen to the songs of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh and feel that they have not betrayed them in their efforts to help poor people?

It is written- " They came unto their own, but their own received them not". Such was the living and works of those who from the early sixties in trench town Kingston, Jamaica who did so much for the people and a country they loved, but who were despised and rejected by their very own. We became the victims of the corrupt system.

The creation and spirituality of Reggae and the music which carries its messages must never be misunderstood, mismanaged, misaligned, misconstrued, mistaken, mislead, misrepresent, or lead to misgivings. It is the divinely created works of the most high God for his people to be delivered by his chosen messengers for the people and for the redemption of man.

I can say these things to you because Jah has given me the livity to see the fulfillment of his prophecy in our works for his people. My days in trench town with all our people, many who now still endure the hardships there because they have no other place to live, makes me duty bound to keep the advocating of their causes, and to give all praises to Jah almighty.

Reggae was created as a mighty spiritual force to help the people, especially the poor. The music carries its many messages. It is the vehicle. The words are filled with the power of the most high God. Many are called but only few will be chosen as the messengers of Jah.

We live in a day and time when so many deceivers and false prophets are out and about deceiving the people as to the truths of our trench town living and struggles. I can tell you that none of those whom I have seen writing about us were there with us in those times.

When I say that Jamaica never knew us I mean that to every word. I could have been killed like so many of my friends and my life and works would never have come to the knowledge of helping people all over the world. The Jamaican society frankly did not give a damn about how we lived and could not care less as to how we die. The full history of our lives and days will never be told in full until the trench town people are helped without conditions and my consultations are met for them.

The people in Jamaica could have known about our early days of reggae, had they cared for us in the ghettoes. Because of their malignant neglect and the blatant refusal by those in the elitist sections of the society to respect us, we were selectively ostracized and treated as rejects. It was always reported that "nothing good comes out of trench town." We were like chattels of the system.

Never was there a time when anyone of us living in trench town were seen as having talent which could enrich the lives of others and uplift the country. Today, I see those at the UWI (University of the West Indies) and other places using our reggae to help promote their causes and yet the people in trench town still suffer harm living in abject poverty.

I AM THE ONLY ONE AT THE MOMENT VOICING THE CONCERNS OF THE TRENCH TOWN PEOPLE AND POOR PEOPLE WORLDWIDE.

The Jamaican government, and the people of Jamaica because of their condescending views and despicable treatment of us made it such that we could not share our thoughts and concerns with anyone of them. Even our music was denied access and was raped and stolen by the unscrupulous pirate producers. No one discovered Bob Marley or Peter Tosh. They were never lost.

Bob told the world that-"we got so much things to say". Well, that is so true and I know that the world will never know unless I told such things to them. I hold these truths sacred in the spirituality of rastafari.

To this day Jamaica cannot lie and say that it knows about Bob Marley or anyone of us from those days in trench town. The world must never believe such lies and deceptions. Those who have tried to befriend us and to wait for our demise to publish and to sell what they have stolen from us or from those around us cannot say that they know us.

Let me also put this to the world stage that none of the interviews given to some publicly by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Junior Braithwaite, and that which I gave to Roger Steffens when asked by Joe Higgs tells them anything but certain truths as to our livity. Neither Roger Stefffens whose lives work has followed Bob around and who has read my books from which he sometimes speak, nor anyonelse can say to my face or the world stage in my presence that they know us. They know some actions/misactions, but they will never know me.

Anyone who awaits my demise to make a profit can forget about all that. What I write and have given in public I stand fully behind them. I have all the evidence and truths to support my case. Many fear to approach me because they know I have truth. I am never afraid of media because I do not see anyone in the flesh who can save his own soul, and for those who have skeletons in their closets, I have some too but they are made of plastic(man made) not solid bones.

When I created and named Reggae in 1962 trench town just a few of us brethrens were there at the place and time. When I created Reggae Opera in 1964 the same conditions applied. There was no government or political party representative. There was no news media or record producers.

The music world and all those who wish for another Bob Marley to make it rich can forget about it. There can only be one time and place for any given event. The prophets and messengers from such times have done their works. It can never be undone. There can only be one Ras Cardo, one Reggae, one reggae Opera, and one trench town in the sixties. The stone that the Jamaican builders refused in trench town can no longer become their cornerstone.

I will tell the world again in this 2010 Black history month that "they cannot educate us for no equal opportunity", and the rastaman will always refuse to be what they wanted us to be. I know the truths.
